The Reserve is jointly owned and managed by Carntogher Community Association and The Woodland Trust. Both organisations collaborate to ensure the ongoing protection and maintenance of this special remnant of ancient Irish landscape.
Nestled on the edge of the Sperrins, the Reserve boasts a rich variety of habitats including ancient woodland, wetland, bog and meadow with the Grillagh River running along its edge. It is a haven for wildlife and you are sure to get a glimpse of something special during your visit.
The graded walking trails guide you through the nature reserve where you will find plenty of places to relax and enjoy a picnic.
You might see our rare breed cows and sheep used for conservation grazing and Pumpkin the Pig is never too far away.
Whether you spend an hour or the whole day, this hidden gem has so much to offer.
We welcome all visitors to our community events on the nature reserve.
